Are Strait Sign signatures legally binding?
Strait Sign is built to meet the requirements of the US ESIGN Act and UETA. Each signer agrees to sign electronically before they sign, every step is recorded in an audit trail, and the finished PDF is sealed with a certificate of completion. A few kinds of documents, such as wills and some court documents, still need wet signatures under those laws.
Does the person signing need an account?
No. Each person gets their own link by email or text and signs in the browser on their phone or computer. Drivers can also open their documents in the Driver app, and customers and carriers with a portal login see them under Documents to sign.
Can we send documents that did not come from Strait Dispatch?
Yes. Upload any PDF, such as a service agreement, a carrier packet, or a company policy, add the people who need to sign, and place their fields. Invoices, invoice groups, and field tickets can also go out for signature straight from where you create them.
What happens if someone needs to change the document?
A signer can decline with a reason, or you can void a request. To fix a mistake, correct and resend it: everyone gets a new link and signs the updated version, and the activity log shows what happened.
How long are signed documents kept?
Signed documents are kept for at least seven years, with the audit trail and the certificate of completion.
