Crude oil hauling

Crude oil hauling software, from the tank to the invoice

Run tickets with temperature- and gravity-corrected net barrels, tank levels that tell you where to send the next truck, and invoices that go to operators through OpenInvoice, all from the work order your drivers complete in the app.

Where it fits

Built for gathering crude, one run ticket at a time

Strait Dispatch began with oilfield liquid haulers. Crude adds the measurements, the tanks, and the operator billing, and the platform handles all three.

Corrected run tickets

Gross barrels, temperatures, gravity, and BS&W recorded on the load, with net barrels corrected to 60°F.

Tank levels and projections

Every pickup’s gauge readings build a production rate for each tank, so you know which ones are filling up.

Operator e-invoicing

Submit invoices and field tickets through Enverus OpenInvoice and OpenTicket.

Proof of every load

Trip replay shows the route, stops, and time on site for each load, from the lease to the station.

Owned and contractor trucks

Dispatch your own fleet and contract haulers on the same board, through to settlement.

Lease road routes

Custom routes keep trucks on the roads you want them on, from the lease to the station.

Crude hauling workflow

Run tickets

Net barrels corrected on every load

Drivers enter gross barrels, top and bottom temperatures, observed gravity, and BS&W on the load in the app. Strait Dispatch corrects gravity and volume to 60°F using the API MPMS Chapter 11.1 tables (ASTM D1250), deducts BS&W for net barrels, and flags readings that look wrong. Net barrels print on the run ticket from your own template.

How net barrels are calculated

Driver enters on the load

  • Gross barrels
  • Top temp
  • Bottom temp
  • API gravity
  • BS&W %
  1. Observed temperature Average of top and bottom, °C converted
  2. Gravity at 60°F Corrected with ASTM Table 5A
  3. Volume factor (VCF) From gravity and temperature, ASTM Table 6A

Net barrels on the run ticket

Gross × VCF × (1 − BS&W %)

Warnings when temperatures disagree, gravity is outside the crude range, or BS&W is over 3%.

Operator billing

Know what is ready to invoice, and what the operator is still processing

Invoices and field tickets go to operators through Enverus OpenInvoice and OpenTicket. The unbilled work view shows what is ready to invoice and what is still waiting on audit, a gauge reading, or a third-party processor, by customer.

Tank levels

Send trucks to the tanks that need them

Each pickup records the tank’s gauge at the start and end of the load. Strait Dispatch turns those readings into a production rate for every tank, projects when each one will reach capacity, and alerts you before it tops out, so dispatch can plan the day around the tanks instead of the phone calls.

  • Production rate per tank from gauge history
  • Projections of when each tank fills
  • Alerts before a tank reaches capacity
  • Gauge history kept with every load

Hours of service

See who is close to their limit before you send the next load

Strait Dispatch estimates each driver’s hours from when they went on duty in the Driver app, measured against a 14-hour shift. See who is running low or out of hours, and what load they are on, before you assign more work.

It is a planning tool, not an official HOS log or an ELD. Link drivers to their Motive or Samsara driver to see their real drive, shift, and cycle clocks.

  • Time left in each driver’s 14-hour shift
  • Drivers under two hours left, or out of hours, flagged
  • Current load and status beside each driver
  • Real ELD clocks for drivers linked to Motive or Samsara

Driver Day Board

Line up each driver’s loads for the day by drag and drop

Drag work orders onto a driver to send them, off to take them back, or onto another driver to reassign them. It works like a whiteboard, except every change shows up in the driver’s app right away.

  • Queue each driver’s loads in the order you want them run
  • Day plans, per driver: show only the current load, and send the next when it is finished
  • Unassigned work orders waiting to be placed

Driver accountability

Know how every hour on the clock was spent

When you bill customers by the hour, they expect every hour to count. If one driver runs ten loads a day and another runs five on the same origin and destination, the customer pays the same rate for half the work, and they will notice. Do not lose a contract because nobody was watching out for your customer’s bottom line.

Replay a single load or a driver’s whole shift: every stop, how long they stayed, and how long they spent at each site. You will know whether a driver was really waiting on site, or parked two miles down the road.

  • Replay one load, or a driver’s entire shift
  • Every stop, and how long the truck sat there
  • Time on site at each origin and destination
  • Loaded, empty, and on-site time broken out
  • Miles, driving time, idle time, and top speed

Driver document management

Every driver’s paperwork in one place, with notice before anything expires

Set the documents your drivers need, mark each one required or optional, and see at a glance what each driver has on file, what is missing, and when it expires. Strait Dispatch flags what is coming due, so you renew in time instead of finding out at the scale house or the gate.

  • CDL, DOT medical card, MVR, and drug and alcohol tests
  • H2S, PEC SafeLand, hazmat, TWIC, and anything else you require
  • Required or optional, set by you
  • Advance notice 30, 60, or 90 days before expiration
  • Missing and expired documents flagged on your dashboard
  • Replaced files kept in each driver’s history
